Image of the Day: Indian Eagle Owl, Rajasthan

Flickr user Koshyk, clicked this incredible image of an Indian Eagle Owl with a recent kill early morning at a field in Shonkaliya, Rajasthan.

He writes, “Till recently, the Indian Eagle Owl was considered a sub species of the Eurasian Eagle Owl (Bubo bubo). It was sometimes referred to as the Rock Eagle Owl due its preference to rocky uninhabited landscape. Now it is considered an independent species, Bubo bubo.bengalensis. Seen in Shonkaliya, Rajasthan. Early morning sitting in a field of newly sown bajra with recent kill, Desert Jird!”
