But it is this insignificant little place that is home to one of the rarest of hornbills in the world and which might have disappeared from the planet if not for the timely plea of few conservationists and action taken by the environment ministry.
14 Species of Birds on the Verge of Extinction
The Ministry of Environment and Forest recently announced that there are 14 species of birds that might not fly anymore in the future and might be extinct in India. The announcement came after International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) informed the ministry.
