Photography of Great Indian Bustard Banned

Taking strict measures to save the small population of Great Indian Bustards in India, the Minsitry of Environment has banned the photography of the bird during breeding season which starts in April. The move has been made to give the rare birds a chance to nest peacefully.

Saintly act Saves Endangered Forest Owlet

For Swami Mahadevanand Saraswathi life is sacred, no matter if it is that of a human or an animal. It is this belief that led him to rescue two critically endangered forest owlet from a cage and keep them safely at his home in Varanasi until rescuers from UK helped him release the birds into the wild.

Jerdon’s Courser: A Precious Rarity

Jerdon’s Courser is extremely rare bird found only in a small part of Andhra Pradesh. Despite being listed as critically endangered by IUCN, there is little that is known about the Jerdon’s Courser.
